The Position
Heat Plant Specialists operate, adjust, monitor, maintain, clean and repair high and / or low pressure boilers and hot water heat generating equipment, auxiliary equipment such as fuel and combustion systems, compressors, pumps, steam lines, steam traps, heat exchangers, water lines, controls, gauges, and emergency power generators.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others.
take water samples and analyze chemical properties of feed water; prevent water deposits and sludge build-up. They will also be doing preventative maintenance, system maintenance, keeping system logs and be required to respond to emergencies.
This position is required to be filled 24 hours a day. Shifts required are day, night and graveyard. Shifts are eight hours.
Days off vary depending of the vacant shift. Earn three weeks of vacation and three weeks of sick leave every year. Twelve paid holidays per year.
Maintenance department works 24 hours. Shift are rotating , need to be available for all shifts. Also need to be available for call ins.
