Position is a Registered Nurse located at NC Correctional Institution for Women (NCCIW) in Raleigh, NC which houses approximately 1,700 minimum, medium and close custody female offenders. Position provides professional nursing care/treatment to patients in accordance with medical protocols, written policies and procedures, and the NC Board of Nursing scope of practice. Work includes conducting sick call/assessment, assisting the physician, carrying out orders, planning, implementing and evaluating nursing care. Position responds to medical emergencies, monitors for communicable diseases, counsels for compliance with diet, medications and treatment; responds to inquiries, medical appointments, orders medications and supplies, and additional nursing care duties, as required. Position requires oversight of LPN and CNA I/II staff, as designated by management. NCCIW staffs for all shifts, availability of specific shifts will be discussed during the interview process. This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits. Note to Current State Employees:The salary grade for this position is MH15. The Dept. of Adult Correction is responsible for the care, custody, and supervision of all adults sentenced after conviction for violating North Carolina laws. This department includes State Prisons with custody, healthcare, and facility operations staff as well as the division of Community Supervision.
