What You'll Do:

THIS POSITION IS ENTITLED TO AN EXTRA 20% SUPPLEMENT PAY.

  • Uses a variety of instructional methodologies to ensure individualized instruction for all students
  • Develops formal lesson plans
  • Prepares appropriate tests, quizzes and supplemental teaching materials as required to meet student needs and curriculum outcomes
  • Provides supervision and discipline in classroom and lab areas as required for program effectiveness
  • Assigns grades or evaluation marks for all students under supervision
  • Maintains up-to-date, accurate records of student progress and attendance in class
  • Maintains accurate and precise records
  • Assists in planning, implementing and supervising other curricular activities as required by the Department of Education and/or Educational Administrator. (such activities include program advisory committees, community/educational visitations, formal graduation or recognition ceremonies, in-service activities, curriculum committees and training sessions as directed by the Educational Administrator)
  • Recommends and prepares requests for appropriate equipment and supplies Required to maintain a conducive learning environment
  • Works with other departments
  • Coordinates with academic teachers for applied curriculum to ensure that academic skills are provided in conjunction with the vocation program
  • Performs related duties and security functions as required

Qualifications

Must meet eligibility requirements for Teacher Certificate/License appropriate for career-tech - heating/air conditioning & grade level as assigned*; Teacher 1, 71621, must also have baccalaureate degree or less per OEA agreement; NOTE: Applicant must successfully obtain Teacher Certificate or License prior to employment.
Job Skills: Education, HVAC Trade, Cultural Awareness, Customer Focus, Developing Others and Emotional Intelligence.

Knowledge of teacher education designed for career-tech - heating/air conditioning & assigned area of grade level; departmental policies & procedures concerning operations of educational program to include those for discipline &/or security*. Skill in operating equipment associated with heating/air conditioning & audio-visual equipment. Ability to assess educational needs of students & develop appropriate lesson plans & individualized assistance; prepare & maintain accurate & concise reports & records; gather, collate & classify information; establish good rapport with students & work cooperatively with other staff members.

Pre-Employment Drug Testing:

All final applicants tentatively selected for this position will be required to submit to urinalysis to test for illegal drug use prior to appointments.
