State of Ohio is Hiring a Medical Director for Developmental Centers in Tiffin & Toledo Near Toledo, OH
What you will do as the Medical Director for NODC and TDC:
Oversee/evaluate/improve the medical operations at each Developmental Center to ensure all individuals are receiving quality medical care and services by establishing/implementing policies & procedures consistent with regulations for Intermediate Care Facility for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities.
Provide primary care to the individuals at each facility by diagnosing, prescribing testing/treatment/medication and making referrals to other medical providers/specialists.
Advise inter-disciplinary team members on medical issues and make recommendations to benefit the overall health of individuals and ensure health precautions are in place to prevent the spread of contagious diseases.
Assess need for medical-related training & deliver training as needed.
Participate in continuous education/training to remain current in medical knowledge/practices.
Oversee the work of nurse practitioners and other medical professionals
Collaborate and coordinate services with the health care team including the pharmacist, dentist and other external providers.
Review and sign pharmacy reports, at least quarterly, including summaries of drug regimen reviews.
Act as a liaison between the health professionals caring for individuals and their families.
