CLASS DEFINITION
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: This position supports the General Treasurer by coordinating logistics for the Treasurer's daily events and appearances. This includes, but is not limited to, communicating between multiple internal and external contacts to prepare for the Treasurer's participation in events, conducting site visits, and compiling briefing materials for the Treasurer, providing staff support to the Treasurer at events and facilitating his movement from arrival through departure, following up on constituent inquiries, and assisting with special projects as needed, including policy research and social media content development in support of the Director of Communications. This position frequently interacts with administration officials, civic and business leaders, members of the press, and the public. Always represents the Treasurer and the Office in a professional manner. Responds promptly and courteously to all inquiries. Supports the day-to-day operations and activities of the Treasurer. Performs related work as assigned/required.
The position offers exceptional opportunities for growth and a high level of on-the-job experience for the right individual. Special projects will be assigned on a case-by-case basis. Must be willing to work flexible hours that include some evenings and weekends. Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Works under the general supervision of the Deputy Chief of Staff who reviews work for conformance to established procedures and regulations.

ILLUSTRATIVE EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED
The position will
  • Manage and provide logistical support to General Treasurer before, during and after internal and external events.
  • Assist in the coordination of daily itineraries and scheduled events.
  • Execute on-site logistics for large and small events, and meetings.
  • Serve as liaison between the General Treasurer and external partners.
  • Assist with social media coordination during and after events as required, including but not limited to photography and posting.
  • Assist with policy and legislation research as directed.
  • Perform other assignments as required to meet the goals and objectives of the department.

Required Qualifications For AppointmentREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR APPOINTMENT
The position must have working familiarity or knowledge of logistics, event planning, or scheduling and advance. The following are critical to the success of this role.

Supplemental Information
Education And ExperienceA 2-year degree from a recognized college/university is required, but 4-year degree is preferred.
The successful candidate will have some prior work or internship experience in government, non-profit, or other organizations. Prior experience working effectively with senior management is preferred. General knowledge of state and local governments is a plus.
