Job Responsibilities

Assists campus arborist in performing tree maintenance operations such as tree removal, tree pruning, debris disposal, tree planting, watering, staking and mulching. Supports special events and other specialized activities. May need to report for duty for tree emergencies and weather related events.
Minimum and Additional Requirements

High school diploma and 2 or more years of experience.
Drivers license required.
Certified Arborist with ISA or ability to obtain within two years of hire
Preferred Qualifications

Degree in Arboriculture, Forestry, Horticulture, Plant Science, Landscape Management or related fieldCertified Arborist with ISA. Previous experience in tree maintenance, landscape maintenance or horticulture preferably on a college campus where safety was at a high standard.
Additional Comments

Knowledge of tree maintenance, removal and other arboricultural procedures. Knowledge of proper pruning techniques. Knowledge of safe work practices. Knowledge of preventative maintenance techniques and procedures. Ability to perform strenuous manual labor. Ability to wok individually or in teams as well as with diverse groups. Ability to lead a small team. Employee must use initiative and be proactive in discharging duties. Employee must demonstrate a dedication to teamwork and customer service. Employee is expected to project a professional image while on duty. Employee must utilize safe work practices and promote safety in the workplace at all times.
