Job Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Technology Solutions and Support, serves as a Device Lifecycle Engineer and provides hardware/software support for microcomputers, peripherals, and/wide area communications devices. Includes: installation, configuration, trouble-shooting, site planning, technology research/prototyping, and logistics support of installed and future systems.
Minimum and Additional Requirements

This position requires a high school diploma and experience in office automation systems, data communications system design, installation, operation, repair, sales or marketing, or processing of information in a data processing environment or related systems. A degree in a related field may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred candidate will have experience maintaining/installing and troubleshooting microcomputers/peripherals, and LAN/MAN/WAN computer hardware. Employee must have working knowledge and technical skills to support client/server computer systems in an enterprise network environment and be able to troubleshoot/maintain Ethernet local area networks and associated wide are network communication components. Employee must have the ability to prepare technical and non-technical reports, effectively communicate orally and in writing, and understand network design parameters and communications component configuration requirements. Supervisory experience is a must. Ideal candidate will have working experience supervising work studies, academic interns, and high school students enrolled in the apprentice programs.
