State of South Carolina is Hiring a MHP I (CIT) Near Charleston, SC


With our Agency's mission to support the recovery of people with mental illnesses, we provide a complete array of medical and support services for children, adults, and families throughout South Carolina. 
 
This position is located at the Charleston Dorchester Department of Mental Health, 2100 Charlie Hall Blvd, Charleston, SC 29414.
Responsibilities for this Position Title include but are not limited to:
This position is to serve the City of Charleston in collaboration with the City of Charleston Police Department. This position will be embedded at the City of Charleston in a ride-along position. This position will serve children, adolescents and families, and adults that have been identified in need of emergency assessment, brief therapeutic interventions, and resources while in a community setting.
The clinician will ensure appropriate support and treatment are provided emergently or in case management and resource capacities. Involvement in this unique program will have a positive impact on collaborative relationships with local law enforcement. 
State Minimum Requirements:
A master’s degree in guidance, counseling, the social sciences or a related field.
Agency (Facility) Minimum Requirements:
A master's or doctorate degree from an accredited program, university, or college in psychology, social work, counseling, marriage and family counseling or other behavioral discipline deemed equivalent by SCDMH.
Note:If any Agency Requirements are listed above, applicants must also meet those requirements to be considered for the position.Working knowledge of Mental Health legal principles and practices, of methods, principles and practices of clinical counseling and educational services; considerable knowledge of psychopathology and patient management in psychiatric setting; working knowledge of basic health and welfare services provided by other agencies; ability to effectively plan, coordinate and manages complex treatment and to the ability to conduct detailed investigations, draw conclusion and recommend required actions.
