Job Responsibilities
With our Agency's mission to support the recovery of people with mental illnesses, we provide a complete array of medical and support services for children, adults, and families throughout South Carolina.
This position is located at the Department of Mental Health, Patrick B. Harris Psychiatric Hospital, 130 SC-252, Anderson, SC 29621.

Under direct supervision of licensed nursing personnel, you will perform routine and specialized patient care duties to adult patients, ages 18 and above, in a designated clinical area. A Nursing Assistant (Non-Certified) at the Department of Mental Health should be knowledgeable in age-specific criteria and interventions appropriate for effective and therapeutic intervention with adult psychiatric patients including those who have diverse backgrounds, disabilities and co-occurring disorders.
This job posting is intended to fill any vacant Nursing Assistant (Non-Certified) position(s) within Harris Psychiatric Hospital.

Minimum and Additional Requirements
State Minimum Requirements : A high school diploma or GED.

Agency Minimum Requirements: A high school diploma or GED and some health care related experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language) are a plus.
Additional Comments

This position works either 7:00AM-3:30PM, 3:00PM-11:30PM or 11:00PM-7:30AM including rotating weekends, with the greatest need being evening and night shifts. A bility to stand, walk, reach, pull, stoop, bend and climb at least two (2) or three (3) flights of stairs. Ability to consistently lift up to fifty (50) pounds.
