Job Responsibilities

Under direct supervision of the Lead Educator/Principal. Perform as the Credit Recovery of the Education Department at the SC Youth Challenge Academy (SCYCA). Monitor and assist cadets in the online credit recovery program by ensuring they are completing assignments, staying on task, monitoring grades, and provide tutoring to the cadets. Perform duties as the GED Administrator testing cadets at Youth Challenge and Job Challenge when necessary. Assist with tutoring cadets in the Youth Challenge and Job Challenge programs. Assist with any administrative duties assigned by the Lead Educator. Attend trainings and meetings as scheduled. Enhances department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments. Complete other duties as assigned.
Minimum and Additional Requirements

A Bachelor's degree in the education field, 2 years of experience with teaching, substitute teaching, and/or working in the educational field, and 2 years of experience working with youth.
Preferred Qualifications

A Master's Degree in the education field. Certified teacher in any subject area. Experience working with high school students in an educational setting is desirable.

Knowledge of agency policies, procedures, regulations and program services. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Ability to communicate effectively, written and orally. The ability to exercise judgment and discretion. The ability to interpret and apply laws, regulations, policies within the scope of case management. The ability to communicate effectively both written and orally. Must be able to work weekends and evenings.
