We are looking for teammates who are:

What you will do: 
You will assist the SCDOR information security team in enforcing, evaluating, and monitoring compliance requirements related to cybersecurity and privacy assurance.

Primary job duties include: 
  • Preparing, collecting, and listing all information about every identified risk, including the level of urgency, priority for each risk response should the risk become a threat, and what those responses should be.
  • Creating and documenting the status of high priority vendors and cloud vendors through continuous assessment, monitoring, and risk management.
  • Following the assessment process of identifying assessors, developing assessment plans, assessing vendor privacy and security criteria, authorizing, or rejecting the authority to operate, and monitoring the risk.
  • Assisting with action plans for the agency’s compliance and evaluating the impact of proposed or approved risk positions.
  • Assisting in the Security Findings, Plan of Action, and Milestones Processes by issuing, updating, and closing findings, and tracking remediation.
  • Supporting the SCDOR information security team in establishing, implementing, and monitoring agency software and application licensing program.
Either: 
  1. A high school diploma and relevant program experience; or 
  2. A bachelor’s degree 
 
Academic degrees must be from an accredited institution of higher learning. These qualifications are not required but are considered when setting a starting salary.
  • Experience performing audits and assessments on processes and technology 
  • Experience reviewing and writing information security procedures 
  • Knowledge of implementing cybersecurity frameworks

  • Hours: Flexible hours may be available from 7:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m., Monday – Friday (37.5 hours per week).
  • Telework schedule: This position may be eligible to work remotely up to two days per week.
