State of Vermont is Hiring an Employer Services Specialist I Near Montpelier, VT

OverviewThe Department of Labor is currently seeking a motivated individual to take the role of a Employer Services Specialist I. This position supports the employer community by assisting in setting up unemployment insurance accounts, processing wage reports, processing payments, preparing refunds, calculating annual rates, and providing outstanding customer service on our dedicated phone line to this employer population. The successful candidate will possess strong customer service skills, effective time management, and attention to detail. As of July 14, 2024, the step 1 rate for pay grade 18 will be $20.28 per hour.
Environmental FactorsIncumbents must be able to work with high volumes and under stressful federal performance expectations for quality and timeliness of all unemployment tax functions. Incumbents may encounter employers or their representatives who are uncooperative or angry during interactions involving their cost of unemployment tax, and/or misclassification penalty assessments. Workload volume will be extremely high at times.
Minimum QualificationsHigh School diploma or equivalent AND one (1) year or more of experience in accounting, auditing, or tax processing related duties.
