Overview
Make a difference with the work you do as a member of the team at the Vermont Board of Medical Practice. Part of the Department of Health, the Board is responsible for the licensing and oversight of physicians, physician assistants, and other medical professionals.
Our staff ensures that applicants for medical licenses are qualified and supports the Board in investigating complaints about medical care.
This position will provide administrative support, handling mail, answering phone calls, scanning documents into our licensing database, maintaining digital and paper files, responding to inquiries about medical licensure in Vermont, and documenting complaints in our database.
This position is not eligible for telework and requires fulltime in-office work.
Who May Apply
This position, Administrative Services Technician III - Limited Service (Job Requisition #49616) , is open to all State employees and external applicants.
It is a Limited Service position, which is non-tenured and authorized for a specific period of time. Limited Service positions are established for specially funded projects or programs.

AHS BACKGROUND CHECKS : Candidates must pass any level of background investigation applicable to the position. In accordance with AHS Policy 4.

Minimum Qualifications
Completion of a vocational / technical training program in business, office administration, financial support or related area AND one (1) year or more of office clerical experience.
One year of full-time college coursework in accounting, business or public administration, office administration or a related field AND one (1) year or more of office clerical experience.
Two years or more of full-time college coursework OR an associate's degree or higher in accounting, business or public administration, office administration or a related field.
One (1) year or more as an Administrative Services Technician II with the State of Vermont.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience providing administrative-level support to a business or organization. Administrative support include those functions which keep the organization running or provide the resources for others to provide the programmatic work (e.
g., accounting, budget management, grant administration, finance, human resources, payroll, purchasing, or space management).
Special Requirements
For some positions experience working with the VISION system (VISION is the State of Vermont PeopleSoft financial management system) may be required.
