The Fredericksburg District (VDOT) is seeking an Equipment Repair Technician to diagnose, repair, inspect, and maintain motorized and mechanical construction, highway maintenance, grounds, and automotive equipment of all types and in varied locations.
This position is at the Fredericksburg District Shop located in Stafford County.
The Core Responsibilities of the position include
Diagnosis and Repair - Diagnosing vehicle and equipment failures using electronic testing equipment, service and equipment repair manuals and on-line resources.
Performing repairs and overhauls to all types of automobiles, equipment and tools to include engines, transmissions, driveline components, electrical and computer systems, fuel injection systems, air conditioning, heating and ventilation systems, hydraulic systems, pneumatic components and air brakes.
Recommending outsourcing for major repairs when needed.
Making repairs as needed when deficiencies are found and or recommend outsourcing.
Information Processing and Paperwork - Preparing, processing, and maintaining require maintenance and repair documentation.
Generating, completing and closing out work orders in computer system. Performing time and leave entry. Preparing parts requests.
Completing paperwork for warranty inspections and repairs.
