Salary: $3,883.00 - $5,214.00 Monthly
24/7 Institution Premium: The salary listed above does not include the additional 5% premiums granted to the 24/7 institution in-person employees.

The Opportunity:
This role supports the agency's goal of safeguarding children and reinforcing families at our max security Juvenile Rehabilitation Institution Green Hill School. Responsibilities include offering initial HR guidance to managers, supervisors, and employees on human resource matters, such as DCYF policies, WAC Civil Service laws, Collective Bargaining Agreements, and regulations related to FMLA and FLSA. You will have the opportunity to work under the guidance of senior-level HR Consultants to grow and learn in this role.
Some of what you will get to do:
  • Consult with and provide advice to staff concerning HR-related procedures, guidelines, and policies.
  • Provides consultation to management regarding the initial stages of performance management, attendance management, and employee relations.
  • Consult with employees and supervisors on FMLA and share leave-related issues.
  • Explain and assist staff with the completion of HR-related documents.
  • Respond to HR inquiries from employees, managers, and members of the public.
  • Process all personnel/payroll actions for new hires, promotions, demotions, transfers, etc.
  • Assist with processing and reviewing position allocation.
Required Qualifications:
Four (4) years of work experience in an office or human resources setting, or related field OR a mixture of relevant education and experience equaling four (4) years.
  • Education must be with an emphasis on business or public administration, human resources, social or organizational behavioral sciences, or a related field from an accredited college or university whose accreditation is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
In addition to the requirements above, our ideal candidate will possess some or all of the following:
  • SHRM-CP/SCP, S/PHR, or other professional HR certification.
  • Professional experience providing consultation and administrative support within a Human Resources Office.
  • HRMS and NeoGov experience.
