Human Resource Division - High Risk Program

Olympia, WashingtonThurstonCounty

Provide senior-level investigation services, with generalist-level human resource consultation, to WDFW employees, supervisors, and managers as a member of our High-Risk Program!

Duties

Our Investigator will,

  • Conduct senior level administrative investigations of allegations to include employee misconduct, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, hostile work environment, and ethics.
  • Interview individuals involved; gather information and evidence; prepare investigatory reports; and brief management on the findings within the report.
  • Makes investigation scope recommendations to appointing authorities.
  • Provide generalist level human resource consultation and professional services in a supportive capacity during periods of high workload to assist co-workers on the Risk Team as needed.
  • Assist with special projects as needed.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Work Setting, including hazards:
    • Most work is performed from home or an office setting; occasionally visits outdoor sites such as fish hatcheries, marinas, forested areas, and parks.
    • Office hazards include working under fluorescent light, repetitively entering data into computer, looking at computer monitor for long periods of time, sitting or standing for long periods of time.
  • Schedule:
    • Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with flexible work schedule options.
    • Workload demands may require work outside the assigned work hours and adjustment of work schedules.
  • Travel Requirements:
    • Requires travel to agency sites around the state, as needed, approximately 10% travel.
  • Tools and Equipment:
    • Basic office equipment and computer software.
  • Customer Interactions:
    • May be exposed to people who are highly emotional.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A Bachelor’s degree with focus on business, human resources, social or organizational behavioral sciences, or related field

AND

  • Three (3) years of broad-based professional human resource experience, including facilitating organizational development or change, and advising and consulting on human resource issues.
  • Two (2) years’ experience in practicing impartial investigations.

Note: Experience can be gained concurrently, and equivalent combinations of education and experience may be evaluated for comparability.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Valid driver’s license

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

In addition to those required qualifications, our ideal applicant will also have some or all of the following:

  • Sexual Harassment/Assault Response and Prevention (SHARP) certified or similar.
  • Equal Opportunity (EO) Certified or similar.
  • Civil Rights Investigations
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office Programs.
