This announcement is for one full-time non-permanent Health Services Consultant 2 (HSC 2) position. This non-permanent appointment is anticipated to last twelve (12) months from date of hire.The salary amount listed does not include the 3% General Government Wage Increase effective July 1, 2024.

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Case Manager to serve as a journey level professional within our health licensing program. In this role, you will provide technical and administrative assistance to health services providers and staff, contributing directly to the Department's mission of promoting public health and well-being. This position will lead and facilitate various dental commission sub-committees, providing research, analysis and data as assigned.

Key responsibilities include
:
  • Serve as Program Support for all assigned programs. Assist programs to develop and enforce regulations, set licensure and practice standards and enforcement of violations.
  • Provide technical and administrative support and backup to senior program managers.
    • Assist with program management activities.
    • Provide assistance with communication activities, including public presentations, targeted towards licensees and other stakeholders.
  • Serves as a point of contact for OHP programs
  • Serve as support or backup as point of communication for assigned professions.
  • Answer questions and interpret/explain information, such as rules and policies, for inter- or intra-agency audiences, state and local government, associations, legislative staff, the public and other entities or individuals.

Essential Requirements & Qualifications

Note: Experience defined below may have been gained through paid or unpaid activities. Please ensure any relevant experience defined below is outlined in your cover letter, resume, and/or applicant profile.

Option 1: Three (3) or more years of experience working in public health, health services, or a similar field.

OR

Option 2:
An Associate degree or higher.

AND
One (1) or more years of experience analyzing data and reports and making recommendations based upon the analysis.
One (1) or more years of regulatory experience in a health services program.
One (1) or more years of experience working with a complex regulatory, permitting, or licensing database.
Experience using computer software applications as follows:
  • Presentation software, such as PowerPoint, to create, format, edit, and run slide shows.
  • Spreadsheet software, such as Microsoft Excel, to create, modify, print, and format spreadsheets, find and replace data, and work with basic formulas and functions, and multiple worksheets. Create and manipulate large or complex spreadsheets, use complex mathematical formulas to calculate data, and link worksheets. Import data from other sources, filter lists, and create and format charts and graphs.
  • Word processing software, such as Microsoft Word, to create, format, edit, preview, print, and save documents. Use standard functions to select, edit, copy, paste, format, and spell check text.

Desired Skills & Preferred Experience
  • Two (2) years of experience reviewing documents and taking appropriate action based on an analysis of the information.
  • Two (2) years writing desk manuals, reports, decision papers, or documents for management review that conveys ideas and facts in the Washington State Executive Correspondence Guidelines.
  • Demonstrated experience with Washington state rule writing and procedure, legislative analysis, and working with boards, commission, or committees to perform the core business of the organization.

Work Location & Flexibility
The incumbent may be located anywhere within the State of Washington. For this hybrid position, the incumbent will work with their supervisor to identify an appropriate work schedule and balance including telework and reporting to the Tumwater, WA duty station for work activities as needed. We anticipate the incumbent will work at the Tumwater office 1 day monthly.
