About the job:
The Office of Financial Management's (OFM) mission is to empower Washingtonians by helping state agencies and the Legislature connect people, budgets, policies, data, and systems.
The Workday System will serve as the state’s repository for enterprise-wide financial, procurement, budget, and human resources information and will support the related business processes in every state agency. The Workday Services program maintains and enhances this system and supports users to help ensure their effective use of the product.
As the Workday Business Solutions Manger you will lead a team within the Workday Services program that works closely with the Business Owners for Workday to ensure the state’s instance of Workday remains aligned with business owner expectations. In your first year in the role you will be responsible for helping to establish this team and develop team operating processes.

Duties

Some of what you'll do:

  • Establish the Workday Business Solutions Team prior to system go-live.
  • Ensure the ongoing maintenance and configuration of the Workday system to reflect software updates and approved changes and enhancements to business process flows, data models and hierarchies, policies, and other system functionality.
  • Provide analysis and recommendations to business owner organizations, governance groups, and partners.
  • Provide excellent customer service to Workday users and helps ensure their effective use of the product.
  • Develop, sustain, and improve the Workday Services documentation repository and knowledge base strategy and approach.
  • Establish and maintain approaches to support testing of Workday,
  • Evaluate processes, identify improvement opportunities and implement required updates/enhancements in the context of a continuous improvement framework.
  • Leverage extensive insight across the spectrum of the Workday business process and technical inter-dependencies, exercising cognizance of foundational design concepts, data conventions and workflow dependencies
  • Coordinate with, and provide services to, the One Washington Program as needed to ensure future phase Workday implementations are successful.
  • Provide effective leadership and management of the Workday Business Solutions Team.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration, or other related field or additional relevant work experience. *Additional year of qualifying management experience in business or public administration may substitute year-for-year for the education.
  • Three (3) years of experience supervising or leading professional staff.
  • Five (5) years of experience in administrative services and must have knowledge in at least one of the following functions:
    • Financial Management
    • Budget
    • Information Services
    • Procurement
    • HR Operations
  • Demonstrated experience with:
    • Building collaborative customer relations and ensuring customer satisfaction among a broad and diverse array of stakeholders.
    • Supporting complex stakeholder engagements and/or governance processes.
    • In a leadership role for financial or administrative systems management either as a technical or business leader.
    • Preparing analyses and recommendations on complex issues for decision makers
Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience managing, operating, configuring, or implementing Workday is highly desirable. Similar experience with another software-as-a-service ERP, or similar enterprise or state-wide software product, would also bewelcome.
  • In-depth knowledge of Workday system and its modules. Relevant Workday certifications are highly desirable.
  • Experience in administrative services management— which could include financial management, budget, information services, procurement, or HR operations, within a state government setting. Experience in Washington State government is highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to conduct gap analysis and provide innovative solutions.
  • Experience with business process engineering concepts and application.
