Academy Instructor | Training and Development Unit(Human Resource Consultant 3)Location: Monroe Correctional Complex | Monroe, WASalary Range: $5,341 - $7,184 MonthlyThis is a full time in-office role. There is no telework available for this role. Do you have a strong corrections background, the ability to captivate a room of adult learners, and have experience working with incarcerated individual populations? If your answers are a resounding yes, perhaps the Human Resource Consultant 3 (HRC3) in the Training Development Unit could be the perfect career move for you! The position is senior level with the goal of delivering an on-boarding academy training for the newest members of our agency workforce. The Academy Instructor has the goal of effectively preparing new staff to become competent corrections professionals within our prison facilities --utilizing research-based training materials and methodologies. This position is a member of a team of professionals that produces learning experiences, transferring competency to performance in direct job alignment with vision, values, and expectations of the agency. The challenges of this position include effectively preparing new staff to perform their duties working with incarcerated and supervised individuals safely, securely, and respectfully. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES

As a Human Resource Consultant 3 – Academy Instructor, some of your duties will include: Competently deliver professional level instruction for various audiences based on adult learning theory with a focus on learning and performance which will include: Delivering TDU curriculum and other curricula as assigned with the level of expertise required to achieve the learning objectives and performance outcomes.Working collaboratively with other instructors, curriculum staff and supervisors to adapt and deliver individual courses and training expectations to meet the needs of students.Working collaboratively with other instructors to train, coach and mentor students towards knowledge and skill outcomes based on an integrated learning model.Actively contribute to the effective operation and continued quality improvement of the Training and Development Unit which will include: Organization and coordination of academies and training delivery.Assume accountability for the accuracy and quality of student learning.All other duties related to training, learning and performance.

Work may be performed from your home or another offsite location within the state of Washington using a reliable internet or cellular hotspot service at that time. Employees are expected to perform assigned duties in a safe manner, to take proper care all state-issued equipment, and maintain confidentiality of all information in possession while working offsite. Employees will be required to commute to a Department of Corrections facility or field office as business requires, to potentially include components of the onboarding process. Some offices will have a “drop in” area available, however, a dedicated workspace within a DOC facility will not be provided.
