The OpportunityWSDOT Project Propel Unit is currently seeking to fill Business Process Re-engineering Lead project position to direct project activities for Project Propel. Project Propel is leading the effort at WSDOT to modernize technology and administrative business functions related to finance, procurement, budget, human resources, and payroll in support of the One Washington Program. This position reports to the Business Transformation Manager and will be responsible to manage resources assigned to the workstream and ensure assigned deliverables are completed. In this role, you will provide expert consultation and advice to Project Propel Leadership on business process re-engineering related to the TRAINS upgrade and implementation of Workday. What to ExpectThis is a project (limited duration) opportunity, expected to last through December 2025. Among the varied range of responsibilities held within this role, you will: Manage project activities for the Business Process Re-engineering Workstream of Project Propel. Lead the development of Future State Business Process Flows to assist in configuration, testing and organizational change management activities.Ensure all assigned deliverables and assignments are completed timely.Manage resources assigned to the workstream to ensure completion of all assigned tasks and deliverables.Participate in, oversee, and lead various business process re-engineering workgroups to ensure appropriate WSDOT representation of requirements.Provide expert consultation and advice to Project Propel Leadership on business process re-engineering related to the TRAINS upgrade and implementation of Workday.Work with the Propel People Transformation team on determining impact to end-users of business process changes.Conduct research and analysis on business processes impacted by the TRAINS upgrade and implementation of Workday.Consult with Propel Business Process Experts and Business Process Reviewers on business process re-engineering.Provide expert consultation and advice to Project Propel Leadership on Business Intelligence (BI) reporting processes.Work with CGI, Technology Services Division (TSD) and AFS on the design of BI reports and forms in TRAINS 4.0.Serve as WSDOT’s representative to the One Washington Program for business process re-engineering activities. QualificationsTo be considered for this opportunity, the following are required: Bachelor’s degree and five (5) years of recent experience working in large and complex organizations leading business projects, analyzing policy, conducting business analysis, documenting processes, or developing requirements. (Two years of additional relevant experience may substitute for a degree.)Experience using analytical problem-solving methods or process improvement methods.Experience using Microsoft Visio to document business processes.Exceptional oral and written communication skills.Exceptional organizational and time management skills.Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.Demonstrated strong analytical problem-solving skills.Demonstrated ability to learn and master new concepts quickly.Demonstrated ability to be flexible and work in a rapidly changing environment. It is preferred that qualified candidates also have: Experience with TRAINS, other WSDOT systems, and with AFRS.Experience working on large and complex projects.Government experience.
