Keeping Washington Clean and Evergreen
The Water Quality Program within the Department of Ecology is looking to fill an Electronic Signature Authorization Forms (ESAF) Customer Support (Office Assistant 2) position.
This position is locatedin our Headquarters Office inLacey, WA.Upon hire, you must live within a commutable distance from the duty station.
You will provide customer service and support water quality’s permit holders as they interact with water quality’s permit information system. You will work validating and processing signature authorization forms for permit holders of construction and industrial stormwater general permits. In cases where only electronic copies have been submitted you will be responsible for reaching out to secure the submission of a physical form. You will also work to support the permit customer support specialist during high call volume situations.
In this position, you will build customer support and communication skills, and gain knowledge of the water quality permitting process and procedures.

Program Mission: The mission of the Water Quality Program is to ensure that all aquatic life and communities in the watershed experience cool, clean water to refresh and sustain us in a changing climate.
We are a cross functional team of 12 IT professionals who are dedicated to providing advanced software applications to support the Water Quality program’s environmental specialists, engineers, inspectors, policy makers, and our permit holders.
Tele-work options for this position: This position will be eligible for up to a 40% tele-work schedule.Applicants with questions about position location options, tele-work, and flexible or compressed schedules are encouraged to reach out to the contact person listed below in “other information.” Schedules are dependent upon position needs and are subject to change.
As the role is primarily processing existing paperwork, the requirement is to be in the office at least three days a week. The work to connect to permit holders who have not followed up an electronic submission with a paper copy can be carried out remotely.

Required Qualifications:
Years of required experience indicated below are full-time equivalent years. Full-time equivalent experience means that any experience where working hours were less than 40 hours per week will be prorated in order to meet the equivalency of full-time. We would calculate this by looking at the total hours worked per week, divide this by 40, and then multiply by the total number of months worked. Examples of the proration calculations are:
Experience for both required and desired qualifications can be gained through various combinations of formal professional employment, education, and volunteer experience. See below for how you may qualify.
Option 1: At least 18 months of experience in clerical, office, or administrative support work.
Option 2: 30-59 college level semester credits or 45-89 college level quarter credits AND previous clerical experience.
Option 3: 60-89 semester or 90-134 quarter credits OR an Associate's degree or above.
