State of Wisconsin is Hiring a Cross-Categorical Special Education / Intellectual Disabilities Teacher Near Janesville, WI

Position Summary

Under the supervision of the school principal, this position will provide classroom instruction to students who are visually impaired who may have additional disabilities. Responsibilities also include evaluating student skills and needs, preparing learning objectives and learning activities, monitoring progress and completing progress reports. This position will consult with staff, other professionals and parents.

Salary Information

Depending on qualifications, starting salary will be between $20.65 - $34.03 per hour (approximately $37,797 - $62,288), in accordance with the provisions of the current Compensation Plan. Additional compensation up to $2.97 per hour may be given for relevant credits beyond a Bachelor's degree. A twelve-month probationary period will be required. This position is in pay schedule 13, pay range 04.

A sign-on bonus of $2,000 will be offered to eligible employees.

This position offers excellent benefits. The State of Wisconsin is a qualifying employer for the federal Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program.

Job Details

A TB screen will be required prior to start.

A criminal background check will be conducted prior to an offer of hire.

The Department of Public Instruction does not sponsor visas, either at time of hire or at any later time.

Qualifications

A minimally qualified applicant must be licensed or eligible for licensure in Cross-Categorical, Special Education (1801) and/or Intellectual Disability (1810) with the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.
