Introduction

The Department of Corrections is currently recruiting to fill a Limited Term Dietitian - Clinical (Registered Dietitian) position. This position is based out of the Bureau of Health Services (Madison, Dane County).
Position Summary
This position is responsible for the implementation of a comprehensive clinical nutrition program which includes: nutrition assessments, education, intervention, monitoring and evaluation. The Registered Dietitian also develops and provides nutrition education to patients as needed, and plans therapeutic and religious diets for the individuals housed at Department of Corrections (DOC) institutions, centers and schools. Some of the persons in the care of the WI DOC may have intellectual disabilities and may also present with mental health or behavior issues.
This role involves some statewide travel to various DOC facilities.
The Dietitian will assist management with Food Service Programs. The Dietitian will provide education to Food Service and Health Care staff as needed and serve as backup to the Dietetic Services Director.
Salary Information
This position is in pay schedule and range 11-04 with a starting pay rate between $24.65/hr to $36.28/hr.
Job Details
Limited Term Employees must be residents of the State of Wisconsin.
Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States (i.e. a citizen or national of the U.S., a lawful permanent resident, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. without DOC sponsorship) at the time of application.
The Department of Corrections may conduct pre-employment drug screens. Any applicant who is offered employment in a position which requires a pre-employment drug screen must pass the screen as a contingency of employment.
The Department of Corrections will conduct criminal background checks on applicants prior to selection. Upon hire, all new DOC employees are subject to fingerprinting.
All state employees must report their COVID vaccination status, whether vaccinated or not and provide supporting documentation if vaccinated. Newly hired employees will be required to submit this information within their first two weeks of employment.

Qualifications
Minimally Qualified Applicants must possess certification or eligibility for certification as a "certified dietitian" in the State of Wisconsin, and registration or eligibility for registration as a "registered dietitian" with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
Experience providing Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) preferred.
Please also include any experience in a correctional/institutional setting, training or experience in quantity food production, and/or any Spanish Language skills in your application materials.
