StateJobsNY is Hiring a Contract Specialist Near Albany, NY

Procurement: 3 years preferred, knowledge & experience with NYS Procurement Guidelines and Office of General Services State Contracts preferred; Associates degree (or higher) or 3 years of equivalent Procurement experience.
Duties Description Responsible for maintenance of contract records; Assist in ensuring all agency Procurement guidelines have been met; Maintain appropriate contact with vendors; Develop, evaluate, or review contracts; Requests for proposals (RFP's), Invitation for Bids (IFB's); Requests for Quotes (RFQ's); Sole/Single Source Procurement, and Unit Preference Procurement; Negotiate acceptable pricing and work with Administrative Counsel regarding acceptable Terms and Conditions; Overseeing the process of contracts through the appropriate Assembly office to the time they are fully approved; Assisting in liaison with vendors, Attorney General's Office, and the Office of the State Comptroller for contract related issues.
Additional Comments Excellent written and verbal communication, and reading comprehension skills; Good interpersonal skills to maintain effective business relationships within and outside the agency; Proficiency in PC applications such as Microsoft Suite; Detail oriented, highly organized, and able to meet deadlines and work with confidential information.
