StateServ is Hiring a LEAD WAREHOUSE/RT TECHNICIAN Near Colorado, CO

Essential Functions:

Note: The essential duties and primary accountabilities below are intended to describe the general content of and requirements of this position and are not intended to be an exhaustive statement of duties. Incumbents may perform all or most of the primary accountabilities listed below. Specific tasks, responsibilities or competencies may be documented in the incumbent’s performance objectives as outlined by the incumbent’s immediate supervisor or manager.

1. Receives equipment, products and materials. Verifies packing lists, unpacks equipment, assembles, brands, barcodes and labels equipment with the appropriate Company information.
2. Assists with inventory management control and methods by organizing the equipment and supplies, tracking daily delivery and receipt activities against stock and ensuring PAR levels are up to date.
3. While following standard operating procedures, tests equipment for proper function, cleans and sanitizes received equipment to ensure it is appropriate for redistribution. Logs cleaning and testing activities following standard operating procedures and other respiratory therapy equipment protocols.
4. Reconciles inventory as reflected in the system with daily delivery paperwork and makes notes of discrepancies to account for missed or overlooked deliveries or drop-offs.
5. Assists with the maintenance and inventory of designated respiratory related product, such as CPAPs, BiPAPs, ventilators, and AirVos, with subsequent reports made to direct service leadership. Responsible for documenting oxygen concentrator cleaning, to include replacement of internal and external filters. This task includes on-going maintenance.
6. Collaborates with respiratory therapists and local site leadership to facilitate order fulfillment of respiratory product, such as assisting with the scheduling and dispatching of orders, if needed.
7. Maintains the warehouse by ensuring that equipment is placed in the proper areas, cleans the floors and takes out the trash, as needed.
8. Ensures that trucks and other vehicles are prepped and ready for route deployment. This may include but is not limited to fueling vehicles.
9. Stocks trucks for daily equipment deliveries and works coordinates with respiratory therapists for the proper deployment of respiratory therapy equipment. Ensures an adequate level of equipment is available.
10. Acts as a back-up for DME Technicians and on occasion may perform deliveries, drop-offs, and service calls to include emergency calls and new patient orders, as needed.
11. May act as a point of contact for nurses for questions related to respiratory needs or equipment.

Marginal or Additional Functions

1. Participates in Performance Improvement (PI) activities to support growth and efficiency within the site.
2. Participates in on-going staff meetings, training activities and continuing education to maintain relevant understanding and knowledge of equipment, new procedures, processes, and CMS requirements.
3. Performs other duties as assigned or apparent.

Supervisory and Managerial Responsibility

• This position does not entail formal, direct supervisory responsibility.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Education, Licensure or Certification:• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must have a current state issued driver’s license, must be active and valid the last three consecutive years
• A confirmed driving motor vehicle record (MVR) successfully demonstrating no major violations in the past three consecutive years, no more than one preventable accident with one moving violation in past three years, no more than two minor violations with no at-fault accidents in the past three years.
• Technicians between the ages of 21 and 25 must have a clean motor vehicle record (no accidents and no tickets received).

Work Experience or Related Experience:• Previous experience working in a warehouse environment is highly preferred but not required. Experience driving a forklift, pallet racking and utilizing pallet jacks is also preferred.
• Knowledge in DME field operations and respiratory therapy is preferred
Specialized Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
• The ability to read, write and follow written and verbal instructions is required to ensure accurate completion of DME deliveries, exchanges, and pick-ups.
• The knowledge and ability to operate smart devices (e.g., smart phone, tablets), computers and hand-held scanning devices are required
• The ability to protect and maintain the confidentiality of patient protected health information and follow standard operating procedures to ensure compliance with HQAA, CMS, and HIPAA is required.
• The ability to operate a 14-16 foot box truck in a safe manner is essential.
• The ability to follow a city map and navigate a new daily route is required.
• Good organization and prioritization skills are required to plan and stage equipment as described
• A safety orientation is required to perform work (e.g, driving, delivery, set up, loading and stocking of durable medical equipment as described) and follow safety operating procedures
• Spanish speaking skills are desirable but not required

Equipment:

• Ability to utilize basic tools e.g., wrench, screwdrivers, etc. to set up durable medical equipment
• Smart devices (e.g, smart phone, tablets), computers and hand-held scanning devices
• A 14-16 foot box truck

Travel Requirements and Conditions

• Minimal daily local travel is required to provide back-up support for delivery and pick-up of equipment as described.

Work Environment, Conditions and Demands

• Stocking and unloading work is performed in warehouse environment which entails exposure to chemicals and medical gases, equipment and electric components
• On a very frequent basis, (75%-100% of the day), technicians are exposed to weather as a daily condition of the role, both in the field and in the warehouse
• ON a very frequent basis (75%-100% of the day), technicians are required to handle and transport compressed oxygen
• Technicians may be periodically exposed to odors and dust from used equipment (about50%-75% of the time), particularly when cleaning dirty equipment
• Technicians may periodically experience occupational exposure to bodily fluids, feces and blood (approximately 50%-75% of the time) when servicing, picking up and/or handling dirty durable medical equipment
• Technicians may seldom experience occupational exposure to other potentially infectious materials (approximately 0%-25% of the time) when delivering, servicing, picking up and/or handling durable medical equipment
• Environmental conditions will vary based on the location of a delivery or pick-up, including but not limited to patients’ private homes, hospitals, adult care homes, assisted living facilities, and skilled nursing facilities. Generally hospital deliveries and/or pick-ups make up approximately 10%-20% of the time
• Job may require proof of COVID-19 vaccination as required by state or local law or ability to demonstrate a negative COVID-19 status through routine testing

Physical Requirements and Demands
Note: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions as described.
• Incumbents must have the ability to lift, carry, push and pull durable medical equipment that weighs up to 80 lbs. intermittently but consistently throughout the majority of their day (50%-75% of the day)
• With assistance, incumbents must have the ability to lift, carry, push, pull and handle awkward sized/shaped durable medical equipment that weighs between 90 lbs. and 120 lbs. Generally, this may occur 2-5 times per week.
• Incumbents must have the ability to lift, maneuver and assemble and disassemble large and awkward durable medical equipment (e.g., beds) that weigh up to 80 lbs. intermittently but consistently throughout the day
• For those sites that dispense liquid oxygen, incumbents are required to lift, pull, push, carry and maneuver containers weighing up to 100 lbs. Generally, this may be expected about 2-5 times per week
• Regular and continuous eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity is required to set up durable medical equipment
• Periodically, (approximately 50%-75% of the day) standing, walking, bending, twisting, grasping, squeezing, kneeling, stooping, crouching, reaching, reaching above the shoulder is required while transporting, setting up taking apart and moving medical equipment as described
• Occasionally, climbing of stairs is required to transport durable medical equipment to or from a particular room, location or vehicle.
