StationServ is Hiring a Controller Near Southaven, MS
This position is a vital part of the accounting/finance department at the Company. The Controller will work directly with accounting staff at individual operating companies and oversee/assist in the preparation of internal financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Manage all accounting operations including Billing, AR, A/P, General Ledger, Inventory, Revenue Recognition, Payroll, Fixed Assets, etc.
- Maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures; implements a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk.
- Oversees the production of monthly financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
- Support month-end and year-end close process.
- Assist in the preparation of annual budget and forecasts; reports significant budget differences to management.
- Creates and assists in the formulation of Cash Flow forecasting for the operating companies as well as total company roll up.
- Provides financial analysis, with emphasis on capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.
- Works with external auditors and provides needed information for the annual audit.
- Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
- Assist with preparation of bank reporting package and board presentations.
- Research technical accounting issues as needed.
- Oversee accounting staff at individual locations.
- Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.
- CPA license preferred.
- Very hands on; a “roll up the sleeves and work” mentality needed.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
- Excellent management and supervisory skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration required.
- Ten years or more of related experience required- exceptions made for public accounting experience.
- Public Accounting experience preferred. Construction accounting experience preferred.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
- Some travel will be required.
