SUMMARY:

Responsible to ensure that all guest and public areas of the hotel are properly stocked and cleaned with the appropriate amenities in accordance with franchise and corporate standards

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

• Enforces standards and procedures for work of Housekeeping staff
• Conducts daily inspections of guest rooms in adherence to franchise and corporate standards
• Responsible for making changes when necessary
• Writes requisitions for room supplies and furniture renovation or replacement
• Examines carpets, drapes, and furniture for stains, damage, or wear
• Completes inventory of linens and supplies
• Records inspection results and notifies cleaning personnel of inadequacies
• Assists in cleaning rooms or public areas and performing laundry functions as business may demand
• Inspects and evaluates physical condition of the hotel
• Investigates new and improved cleaning instruments and methods
• Records all relevant information on the Housekeeping Inspection Report
• Must maintain a net, clean, well-groomed appearance
• Performs other duties as assigned by management

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBLIITIES:

Aids the General Manager in the supervision of the Housekeeping Department

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, and percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

TRAINING NEEDS:

Training in providing quality guest service, training in the hotel's housekeeping policies and procedures, training in the hotels housekeeping standards and practices
