Our first and third-party property adjusting services are available to insurance companies, third-party administrators and self-insured entities.

We are seeking add qualified Commercial Property General Adjusters to handle claims in Missouri and the surrounding states who will be responsible for full handling of commercial, institutional, and governmental property claims on losses with minimal supervisory oversight.

Performance Expectations, Duties & Responsibilities

  • Investigate and evaluate all manner of commercial property losses up to $5M
  • Personally conduct property inspections and photograph insured property as necessary to depict and substantiate loss or damage (or the lack thereof)
  • Establish appropriate loss reserves and estimates of loss based on all relevant information.
  • Identify and investigate relevant facts necessary to determine coverage and damages
  • Follow established policies, procedures, and processes in preparing information, exercising sound judgment in applying these to potentially unusual or complicated situations, and submit reports and documents in a timely manner and in accordance with client’s standards and expectations.
  • Effectively use software including Xactimate, Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Work effectively with insured’s experts, attorneys, public adjusters, contractors, or other representatives
  • Review relevant documents including insurance policies, association governing documents, claim procedures documents, leases, and other contractual documents
  • Manage the work of diverse teams of experts including but not limited to; O&C investigators, architects, engineers, subrogation attorneys, construction consultants, forensic weather consultants, and coverage counsel
  • Identify subrogation potential and assist with pursuit of subrogation
  • Prepare Measured Loss Worksheets, Statements of Loss, Proofs of Loss, Audit Worksheets, and other claim related documents
  • Negotiate agreed figures with insureds’ representatives including contractors, public adjusters, property managers, and attorneys
  • Maintain accurate diary notes, organized electronic files, detailed time logs
  • Adhere to detailed claims handling instructions from a variety of clients
  • Actively work complex property claims to a reasonable, fair, and well documented conclusion within the appropriate amount of time
  • Prepare accurate, clear, thorough, and concise reports to clients with conclusions and recommendations
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of property claim law and jurisdictional issues as required
  • Provide exceptional claims handling throughout the lifecycle of the claim

Qualifications :

  • Five years experience in commercial property loss adjusting
  • Baccalaureate degree in a related field, or demonstration of equivalent knowledge and critical thinking skills
  • Demonstrate thorough understanding of commercial claims processes
  • Advanced knowledge of property mitigation practices and fee structures
  • Skilled at discerning essential and non-essential information
  • Research and investigative various subject matters as required to gain working knowledge of unique claim situations
  • Possess strong negotiating and dispute resolution skills
  • Ability to obtain and maintain appropriate licenses as applicable
  • Demonstrate a steadfast commitment to quality during periods of high claim volume
