As a Senior Engineer at our well-funded, pre-seed startup in the PropTech industry, you will be instrumental in building the first version of our AI-based platform designed to revolutionize the real estate buying and selling journey. Your expertise in data and backend development will lay the foundation for our innovative tools, driving forward a technology that empowers both real estate professionals and their clients.

Responsibilities:

• Create reliable secure data pipelines and processing frameworks that allow us to harness data to deliver insights to our customers.
• Extract and store client information from external data repositories.
• Backend Development: Design and implement scalable and robust backend systems to support our web front end and scaling user base.
• Expose new features to our users through our React web application or publishing to external systems.
• Build and deploy scalable AI and machine learning models to enhance customer insights and delight our users.
• Work both independently and as a team on a diverse set of features (we are a startup after all)

Must-Have Skills:

• 5 years programming in languages like Python, Java, or Typescript.
• Data Engineering Expertise: Capable of creating secure and reliable data pipelines and processing frameworks.
• System Architecture & API Design: Knowledgeable in system architecture and experienced in API design for seamless component integration.
• Scalable System Development: Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing scalable and robust backend systems.
• SQL Knowledge: Strong understanding and practical experience using SQL to shape data and draw insights.
• A desire to move fast and take ownership.
• Located in Seattle (We are in person most days of the week right now)

Nice-to-Have:

• Background in PropTech or real estate technology.
• Startup Experience
• Familiarity with frontend technologies (React, CSS, JavaScript).
• Experience with AI or machine learning
• Experience with Pandas, Flink, Kafka, Spark
