Steamboat Springs High School is seeking a CTE Coordinator (.5FTE). This position is Responsible for developing, maintaining, and expanding district-wide CTE programming, and supporting educator certification in CTE at all secondary schools.Position works 185 Days m
*Grant funded position 1 year only, with possible extension to 3 years. Additional days may be needed based on program and funding needs (5 days 24-25)

SALARY INFORMATION:
Placement is based on a maximum of 8 years of experience, verified full time teaching (not substitute) experience and education. $26,750.00 - $39,029.00 (PhD)

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for developing, maintaining, and expanding district-wide CTE programming, and supporting educator certification in CTE at all secondary schools. The Career and Technical Education Coordinator identifies gaps in programming and supports school sites in the design of multidisciplinary educational opportunities that align to community workforce needs and student ICAP goals. The CTE Coordinator is the voice of Steamboat Springs School District's CTE programming to district teachers, counselors, administrators, regional and state-wide partner districts, local business leaders, community members, the community college system, and agencies of the state and federal government.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Create, implement, and continuously monitor the planning and implementation of a diverse set of district-wide secondary CTE programs covering many disparate disciplines.
  • Lead, support, coordinate, and deliver district-wide secondary CTE programs through planning and implementation processes, which include concurrent enrollment, industry certifications, and Colorado's Essential Skills. Coordinate with the SSSD administrative team to identify opportunities to create innovative programs and connections such as Internships, Apprenticeships, Capstones, Industry Tours, and other work-based learning opportunities.
  • Primary report writer for various grant funded operations and collaborative community groups, including Carl Perkins Federal Grant, Colorado Vocational Act, and the Colorado Community College System (CCCS).
  • Create new CTE programs and update and revise existing program approvals.
  • Serve and actively participate as an educational leader on a variety of state, regional and district committees. Consult other districts seeking to replicate SSSD's industry-leading programs.
  • Support school sites in ensuring that education and certification requirements are met/maintained by all CTE teachers.
  • Manage CTE assessment systems, including interfacing with vendor, managing accounts, analyzing data, and sharing with CTE teachers and site-based leadership.
  • Coordinate district-wide collaboration and staff development for all middle and high school CTE teachers.
  • Report, monitor, research, and analyze program data to assure compliance with programs.

  • Support CTE teachers in curriculum selection, standards alignment, and vertical articulation which includes the selection of textbooks, hardware, software, and other teaching materials for CTE programs.
  • Assist sites as needed in identifying, interviewing, and recommending qualified candidates for CTE teaching positions.
  • Collaborate with SSSD's Special Education and Emerging Bilingual Departments and other Steamboat Springs High School departments to deliver instructional programs aligned with the needs of exceptional populations.
  • Expand and support CTE programs and courses in middle school to expose 6th- 8th grade students to high school pathways.
  • Facilitate CTE Advisory Committee meetings 2 x per year.
  • Instruct students in large, small, and one-on-one situations. Work with schools' counseling and administrative teams to assist in student recruitment and retention in CTE programs. Lead development of recruitment materials and presentations.
  • Serves as the district's primary point of contact and liaison for YVPS3 relating to program-level educational/career pathways
  • Participates in regional YVPS3 CTE Coordinator working group (not to exceed bi-weekly meetings - mostly virtual with some in-person)
  • Communicates YVPS3 programmatic opportunities and needs to appropriate district educators and counselors, and provides service-based leadership to connect educators and counselors to YVPS3 opportunities
  • Responsible for frequent (generally quarterly) data reporting to YVPS3 relating, but not limited to: student interest surveys, student pathway engagement, concurrent enrollment, CTE certifications, work-based learning engagement, etc.
  • Responsible for driving shared district initiatives and goals in collaboration with the YVPS3 partnership (with Hayden School District, and South Routt School District)
  • Able to drive between partner districts for programs for meetings, planning, etc.
  • Works closely with YVHS Principal for student programs as well as YVPS3 consultant
  • Attend work and arrive in a timely manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND RELATED WORK QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's required, preferable in Education or business related degree
  • CDE teachers license or CTE teaching credentials required, or ability to secure
  • Master's degree in Education or Business preferred
  • Five or more years of related experience, or teaching experience in a CTE program preferred.
  • Experience in career and technical program coordination and reporting procedures preferred.
  • FBI/CBI background check required
  • Preferred CTE Director Credential from CDE or able to secure as needed
  • A valid Colorado driver's license required

Ability to promote and follow Board of Education policies, Superintendent policies and building and department procedures. An incorrect decision made by this position could impact the district legally causing the financial condition of the district to be affected. Errors made in decision-making could potentially result in substantial cost to the District or damage to the credibility of the District.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general professional journals, technical procedures and governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals. Excellent written communication skills. Ability to effectively present information and respond professionally to questions from groups of parents, community members, commissions, colleagues and Board of Education.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as interest, discounts, commissions, proportions, percentage, circumference, and volume. Data analysis, budget management, documentation, research, and monitoring skills. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra, and geometry

TECHNOLOGY SKILLS: Proficient use of technology which includes: basic operations and concepts, word processing, spreadsheets, internet usage, critical evaluation of information, data analysis, email, integration of technology. Personal computers and peripherals. • Operating knowledge of and experience with Google suite, Microsoft suite, gmail/email and/or other department software packages.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: • Knowledge of CTE programs, Colorado Vocational Act, CCCS Standards and Colorado Career Clusters. Knowledge of current workforce/employment demand and industry trends.Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory in education. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships, and communications with staff and community. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both in oral and written form.
