Job Summary

We are looking for individual to join our client’s team as Biological Technician.

Job Description

• Maintaining suitable conditions for proper plant growth.
• Responsible for rearing insects and maintaining plants in a greenhouse.
• Rearing responsibilities include preparing rearing materials, transferring and collecting insects, filling in data forms, and cleaning reusable materials.
• Greenhouse responsibilities involve filling pots, seeding, watering, monitoring plant pests, and discarding unused plant material.
• Preparing for culture media.
• Assisting in lab, headhouse and greenhouse sanitation practices including devitalization processing of all regulated breeding materials.
• Candidates must pay attention to the details and be able to follow safety and stewardship rules, stand for long periods of time, and lift 50 lbs. The environment can sometimes be hot in greenhouse.

Skills Required

• Experience working with insects and/or caring for plants in a greenhouse environment.
• Candidates may get dirty due to working with plants and soil.

Educational/Training/Certifications

• Associations Degree or higher

Additional Requirements

• Shift: Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm
• Day shift plus weekends and holidays on a rotating basis.
