DescriptionPosition SummaryThis position is responsible for setting the strategic direction of Steffes, developing strategic vendor partnerships, comprehensive planning, talent development, and leading and optimizing the entire supply chain for multiple manufacturing locations, distribution points, and market segments. Key Responsibilities
  • Develops supply chain strategy that is integral to and aligns with the growth and performance expectations of the Steffes Corporate Strategy.
  • Builds mutually beneficial supplier partnering based on long term relationships that recognize the need for both companies’ success. Create value adding transparency and collaborative communication systems. Understand the supplier’s suppliers and constraints.
  • Creates increased value by integrating across costumers and suppliers and linking internal functions including product development, planning, procurement, manufacturing, delivery, and service support. Achieve quality, cost, and lead time market advantage through joint partnering improvements.
  • Recruit, retain, and develop talent for the Steffes supply chain team to support current and future growth needs. Model leadership behaviors described by Steffes Leadership Success Factors. Utilize succession planning to assure talent performance capacity.
  • Lead coordination of comprehensive vendor forecasts. Oversee demand planning for make/buy capacity decisions. Provide resource visibility for effective planning. Facilitate the monthly Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning process.
  • Leads enterprise excellence in supply chain, including lean continuous improvement.
  • Provides leadership and direction creating reliable high-performance supply chain business processes. Supports internal and external audits related to all areas of supply chain management in alignment with the Quality Management System.
  • Negotiates performance expectations, pricing, delivery, and financial terms with suppliers. Comply with all applicable regulatory and compliance requirements.
  • This role sets and monitors performance metrics including forecast accuracy, lead time, on-time delivery, inventory turns/days on hand, out of stock, and inventory obsolescence.
  • Develops an effective network of suppliers with primary and secondary sources for key materials, parts, and sub-assemblies needed for manufacturing and distribution within the quality and lead time requirements of customers.
  • Leads various day-to-day functions to include inventory optimization, execution of sourcing strategy, shipping and receiving, along with logistics and freight. Develop and maintain raw, WIP, and finished goods inventory levels. Maximizes asset velocity.
  • Develops, executes, and optimizes inventory plans to meet production needs.
  • Develops contingency plans, redundant supply for critical sourcing, and supplier risk assessment FEMA audits.
  • Analyze industry trends, best practices, and evolving technology such as ERP, automated data collection, and forecasting planning models.
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in collaborative manner with customers, suppliers, co-workers, and management.
  • Support and help develop their team with professional development short and long term goals.
  • Helps company meet its Strategic, Quality and Safety objectives.

Job Requirements/Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Logistics, or Purchasing Management. APICS Supply Chain certifications a plus
  • 10 years of experience in supply chain or production planning experience
  • Must have demonstrated building strategic partnerships with vendors.
  • Must have strong knowledge of the supply chain processes: planning, forecasting, supplier development and partnerships, and ability to develop creative solutions to supply chain challenges.
  • Must have strong collaboration skills to work with different functional departments to solve business challenges.
  • Intermediate computer knowledge (Windows, email, internet, etc.)
  • Written and verbal communication
  • Math, reading, and spelling skills. OR
  • An acceptable combination of education and experience
Functional & Cognitive Requirements Of Position
  • This position requires walking, sitting, or standing to a significant degree.
  • Must have the ability to lift 50 pounds from floor to waist, carry 50 pounds, and push and/or pull up to 20 pounds.
  • Must have the ability to climb ladders and/or stairs.
  • Stooping, crouching, kneeling, and bending.
  • Handling, feeling, and gripping would be required for some activities.
  • This role may be subject to internal and external environmental conditions.
  • Learn new tasks, remember processes, maintain focus, complete tasks independently, make timely decisions in the context of a workflow, ability to communicate with visitors, ability to complete tasks in situations that have a speed or productivity quota.
