Job Title : Linux System Admin / Support
Location : Mountain View, CA (Hybrid onsite- 3days / week)
Duration : Long term Contract
No H1B
Required :
Basic Linux command line knowledge - How to use commands like ls, cp, mv, df, du, chown, chmod
Basic knowledge of various computer components - Storage, memory, CPU
Experience with end user tech support
Bash or Python scripting abilities.
Pluses :
Experience with Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform)
Experience with Jenkins CI / CD
Experience with Git or other version control systems
Possible Tasks :
Unblock HW engineers, allowing them to do their work :
Virtual desktops in Google Cloud Platform tasks - Create new Cloud desktops, Resize Cloud desktops
NFS scratch disk tasks - Create new NFS storage volumes (Filestore), Resize NFS storage volumes (Filestore)
Provide end-user support & debugging in running EDA software on Linux - Escalate when issues affect a significant portion of the user base
Floating license server tasks - Review & merge updated license keys, Verify successful deployment of new keys on server, Adjust user fairshare limits to licenses, Update license tunnel
CI / CD interrupts tasks - Grant users access to Jenkins, Create skeleton CI jobs from templates (Jenkins or similar), Reboot deadlocked Jenkins boxes, as determined by failure metric, Disk space cleanup (when automation fails to do so), Attach lab computers as Jenkins worker nodes
Git / Gerrit interrupts tasks - Create new repos, branches, tags, & labels in Git server
Filing requests for documentation
Lab computer IT - Desktop computer setup (physical install), Desktop computer reimaging & software configure
Monitor user communication channels
