The newly created Company, FerroWorks, has locations in Pittsburgh, McKees Rocks, and Kutztown, PA including McConway and Torley and Standard Forged, which have been in continuous operations since 1869, the same year the first US transcontinental railroad was completed. We have been able to meet the needs of our customers with a steady, dependable and economical supply of high-quality railroad industry products. As McConway is the original designers of the first standard automatic coupler, continued innovation and craftsmanship have and has led to a product line that includes every ARR approved coupler as well as custom coupler solutions, which are all proudly cast in the US.
We are actively seeking an HR Generalist to support our continued growth at McConway and Torley in Lawrenceville! In this position you will be an integral member of the team, helping to assist the plant in all aspects of HR including: Employee Relations, Orientation, and benefits administration, compliance and plant communication. Some of your key responsibilities will include:
- Coordinating leave administration and working with vendors
- Leading new hire orientation
- Partnering with HR teams on employee engagement and retention activities
- Develop and deliver reports on HR activities
- Troubleshooting HR issues
- Acting as an ambassador for the employees on engagement and appreciation initiatives
- Tracking Leaves and attendance
To be successful, you will need to develop strong relationship with all levels of staff at the plant. You will impact the business as an imperative member of a collaborative team, helping to drive employee engagement and retention by helping our team to define and grow our capabilities.
Required Qualifications:
- At least 5 years of professional experience in Human Resources or a related field
- 3 or more years of experience working with HRIS Systems
- 2 years of expert level experience in the Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proven experience in leave administration
- Exceptional Verbal and Written communication skills
- Comfortable presenting to groups of people
- Coachability and a natural curiosity and desire to learn new things
- Self-Starter
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business or related is required
- Equivalent Combination of education and experience may be considered
- Related HR Certifications are a plus
Work Environment:
- Work in office setting with occasional visits to other areas to include: plant, warehouse, production and non-production areas and plant grounds
- This position may require work/maintenance coverage beyond the normal hours, shift, and on weekends/holidays
- Ability to tolerate both high and low temperatures, loud noises typical of a manufacturing plant
