Pricing Analyst

Salary - $110K

Bonus - 10%

Location - Frisco (hybrid)

The Pricing Analyst is responsible for developing and implementing pricing strategies that optimize company profits and market share. This role involves performing environmental analysis, coordinating pricing schedules, compiling cost data, and training team members on pricing processes. The Pricing Analyst will also ensure that all pricing deliverables are accurate and submitted on time.

As a Pricing analyst you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Analysis and Research
  • Participate in environmental analysis of customers and competitors through internet research, participation in industry conferences, and analysis of contract documentation.
  • Stay updated with market trends, pricing strategies of competitors, and potential impacts on the company’s pricing strategy.
  • Read, understand, and provide detailed analysis of Request for Proposals (RFPs) /Request for Information (RFIs) Request for Qualification as they relate to potential cost and pricing decisions.
  • Identify key pricing requirements and risks associated with each RFP and communicate findings to relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensure all pricing activities comply with company policies, industry regulations, and legal requirements.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for pricing-related risks.
  • Cost/Price Schedule Coordination:
  • Develop and establish cost/price schedules for various projects.
  • Coordinate and communicate milestones and deadlines to internal teams and lead regular check-in meetings to ensure timely delivery of cost/price deliverables.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather necessary pricing data and ensure alignment with project objectives.
  • Data Compilation and Analysis:
  • Collect, edit, and compile cost/price information into comprehensive data models and pricing summaries.
  • Present pricing data and analysis to senior leadership to support strategic decision-making.
  • Ensure pricing accuracy and efficiency.

  • Proposal Repository Management:
  • Contribute to an effective proposal repository by archiving documents and retaining successful cost/pricing artifacts.
  • Ensure that all documents are organized, easily accessible, and up-to-date.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements in pricing strategies and methodologies.
  • Implement best practices and innovative solutions to enhance pricing effectiveness.
  • Work closely with sales, finance, and operations teams to ensure cohesive and integrated pricing strategies.
  • Support cross-functional projects that require pricing expertise.
  • Train peers, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), and other members of cross-functional teams on cost/pricing processes and procedures.
  • Develop and deliver training materials and sessions to ensure team members are proficient in pricing methodologies and tools.

The Ideal Pricing analyst should have the following Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 5 years experience in pricing, financial analysis, or a related role.
  • Above average to advanced knowledge/skills in standard MS Office suite required, including proficiency with advanced Excel functions.
  • Proficiency in pricing software and data modelling tools.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Able to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, including senior/executive leadership and Board of Directors.
  • Ability to utilize multiple research methods to accomplish goals
  • Able to organize and prioritize multiple work assignments, work with little supervision and work effectively under pressure and tight/numerous deadlines
  • Able to effectively read and understand technical/requirement documents as well as legal documents such as customer contracts
  • Must be able to think critically and develop well-reasoned analysis; identify the relevance and importance of information, understand the logical connections between ideas, and solve problems systematically as well as creatively
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills, with the capability to build consensus and partnership.
