Position: JR IT Engineer
Location: hybrid, 2 days onsite in Chicago office
Duration: 6 month contract
Start Date: ASAP
Job DescriptionThis position is responsible for executing IT Engineering projects and initiatives. This includes working from a scrum-based backlog to address backlog requests and feature enhancements in three week sprint intervals. Engineers are expected to interact with business stakeholders to ensure the Bank’s technology requirements are being met. This may also include making performance, security, and platform updates to existing IT processes with a focus on automation.
The ideal candidate will be proficient with Python development, understand Windows and/or Linux systems, be able to problem solve independently and communicate work to the technical team and non-technical stakeholders, have context using Docker and/or EKS, and have some practical Cloud Experience (preferably Amazon Web Services).
Primary Duties Include

- Creating Event Driven Architecture
- Performing all Software Development Lifecycle (SDL) Steps
- Automating processes using APIs
- Re-engineering existing IT processes
- Python (90% of code)
- Docker Container/ EKS
- CI/CD Pipeline Configuration
- API Integrations
- Version Control/Git
- Comfort with CLI commands
- Amazon Web Services (AWS) [Lambda, CFT, S3] (Preferred)
- PowerShell/Azure DevOps (Preferred)
- 1 or more years developing in Python.
- Experience in reading, understanding, and writing proficient code.
- Experience using YAML and JSON.
- Ability to pair program within an Agile team to achieve team goals.
- Excellent technical and non-technical communication skills.
- 4 year college degree in Information Technology or equivalent experience.
- AWS Certified – Solutions Architect (Associate) and/or Developer (Associate) preferred.
