Project planners and project managers are both important positions in project management, but they fill different roles in the project management cycle. While a project manager handles a project's entire cycle, from inception to results, project planners usually focus on the planning and monitoring phases of a project. The project planner will report to the Sr. Director of Technical Projects.
Job DescriptionThe Technical Project Planner will provide continuous project coordination by ensuring continuity between projects. The role will focus on the large-scale technical projects, including assisting the Projects Managers writing project specifications, coordinating between projects, ensuring the proper documentation is completed for each project milestone.
Work will typically include online or onsite meetings, specification review, schedule development, interacting with third party contractors, and coordinating technical review of project deliverable documents.

The ideal candidate shall
- Can perform detailed work with little guidance, work well under pressure, and adapt quickly to a changing environment.
- Be familiar with project management processes.
- Have experience and skills necessary to monitor, and keep track of and adjust existing tasks, and synthesize information.
- Have excellent communication skills at the strategic level and be able to focus on details to drive successful execution.
- Be familiar with cruise vessel technical assets.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft office tools, and Power BI.
- Craft project schedules, resource allocation, and timelines.
- Determine with the project managers the start and delivery dates of the technical projects.
- Coordinate with project managers and other teams/departments to ensure project efficiency.
- Map out conflict in the execution phase between different projects.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including weekly progress reports, technical specifications for bid solicitation, and change orders.
- Maintain Technical Projects SharePoint site.
- Provide technical oversight and verification review to team.
- Draft project progress reports and prepare presentations regarding project status.
- Track the overall status of the Technical Projects, and KPIs.
