The BDC service department answers incoming service calls and assists the customer in scheduling appointments. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Communicates effectively with Internet customers and prospects according to their preferred method of communication, whether by phone, by email or in person.
  • Has thorough knowledge of all dealership products and services and completes required Manufacturer and SOAG Training.
  • Answer incoming calls and overflow for the Service Department. Return missed calls daily.
  • Contact and communicate with customers to identify service needs.
  • Books appointments based on customer’s service needs.
  • Answer internet service leads in applicable programs.
  • Contacts customers after service has been completed to determine their satisfaction with the process and purchase.
  • Liaison between the parts and service department regarding parts availability.
  • Assists Service Advisors with customer follow up and daily scheduling.
  • Calling missed appointments from the prior day.
  • Other assignments for outbound calls include but are not limited to safety recalls, recommended services, special order parts, and declined service.
  • Assists with answering customer inquiries and problems by routing customers to the contact and or department.
  • Offers additional services based on client needs and OEM requirements.
  • Attends company meetings and training as required.
  • Follow all SOAG policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a positive client experience by remaining upbeat and friendly at all times.
  • Be coachable in improving skills to meet expectations set by SOAG.
  • Adhere to work schedule as assigned.
  • Maintains professional appearance by following uniform policy and guidelines.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Must possess strong customer service skills and the ability to deescalate conflict.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Bilingual fluency is highly advantageous.
  • Must have the ability to sit for long hours while working from a desktop computer, phone systems, headsets, and an assortment of software.
  • Must have ample dexterity to bend, reach, stretch, sit, stand, type, and lift up to 30 pounds.

Education and/or Experience

  • A high school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Prior sales, call center, internet department or BDC experience preferred but not required.
  • Phone skills fluency required.
  • Must be able to pass a background check, drug screening, and Motor Vehicle Report.
