Job Overview:
The CSE Liaison is a 12 month position supporting the Gaynor community in the delivery of our vision and mission, by working closely with Division Directors and members of the school community, including our faculty and families, to assist with CSE processes by acting as the school’s lead representative within IEP meetings and due process hearings.
The EXEMPT role with a full-time equivalent salary range of between $80,000 - $120,000. The starting salary is based upon, but not limited to, several factors that include years of experience, education level, and expertise.
Essential Functions:
Gather from educators and administrators and/or prepare the necessary documentation to represent the school and students during IEP/CSE and due process proceedings
Coordinate and participate in the scheduling of IEP meetings
As the school’s lead representative, participate in all required IEP meetings and due process hearings.
Communicate regularly with the Division Directors and faculty in order to best support families in navigating IEP related matters
Support the development of our faculty via training of the end to end process
Maintain records of individual student/family IEP/CSE and due process proceedings
Liaise between families (incoming and currently enrolled) and Gaynor, as well as attorneys, CSE, and representatives necessary during IEP/CSE and due process proceedings
Keep student data up to date on internal documents
Willing to display a commitment to anti-bias and anti-racism work and to promoting inclusion, belonging and equity through their work in the classroom and school community.

Qualifications & Skills:
Undergraduate or Graduate degree. Background in special education administration preferred
Five years of experience in special education in the areas of teaching, school psychology, or administration, preferably in a lower (elementary) or middle school setting is recommended
Experience in writing IEPs and participating in subsequent meetings
Specific experience in the interpretation and implementation of federal and state legislation and regulations governing special education as well as how they are interpreted and put into practice in New York City
Experience with or knowledge of the due process and the impartial hearing processes is preferred
Experience in interpreting neuropsychological evaluations and other education related records
Knowledge of current trends and research in special education
Sets a respectful, collaborative, and positive tone, and recognizes our responsibility to create a diverse and inclusive environment that supports and celebrates each individual in our school community
Excellent oral, and written communication and presentation skills
A multi-tasker who can organize and manage multi-faceted day to day responsibilities
A professional who maintains confidentiality and displays ethical judgment and integrity.
Strong knowledge of Google Workspace, as well as Excel, Word and presentation platform
