As a contract employee of Sterling, you are eligible to receive a Full Employee Benefits Package that includes paid time off, paid holidays, 3 medical plans to choose from, dental & vision plans, 401(k), and an Employee Stock Ownership (ESOP) plan.Job Summary: In this role, you'll be responsible for designing and implementing electrical control systems for our state-of-the-art industrial ovens and washers. You'll work closely with engineers, customers, and vendors to ensure projects meet all specifications and deadlines.
Job Duties:
  • Design electrical control systems according to engineering standards, codes, and customer requirements.
  • Program and troubleshoot PLCs (Allen-Bradley preferred), HMI (Human Machine Interface), communication devices, and VFDs (Variable Frequency Drives).
  • Interpret customer specifications and sales agreements.
  • Collaborate with customers and vendors on equipment design.
  • Ensure conformance to electrical codes and company quality standards.
  • Develop and maintain electrical schematics and panel layouts using AutoCAD Electrical.
  • Assist in selecting electrical components for projects.
  • Foster strong working relationships with internal departments (Mechanical Engineering) to address and resolve technical challenges.
Qualifications:
  • Associate degree in Electrical Design or Engineering Technology (preferred).
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in designing electrical control systems.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical.
  • Basic knowledge of PLC programming (Allen-Bradley a plus).
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to travel for commissioning (occasional) and work occasional weekends.
