Title: Sr. NPD Mechanical Designer

Location: Bolingbrook, IL

Hire Type: Contract

Salary: $90k /yr.

Sterling Engineering is looking for an experienced Sr. NPD Mechanical Designer with heavy experience in Creo for a manufacturer of electrical power grid solutions in Bolingbrook, IL. This is a great opportunity to work with a company that is recession proof-ish that loves to promote within!

Job Duties:

• Use 3D parametric CAD techniques to establish and document new designs, processes, and products following company CAD practices.
• Operate with moderate supervision, interpreting assignments from drawing markups, conceptual drawings, models, and sketches.
• Support Project Engineers and Engineering Managers in enhancing existing and developing new product lines.
• Generate comprehensive drawing packets for components, sub-assemblies, and assemblies, serving internal and external customers.
• Utilize 3D modeling to create models and drawings for Mechanical and Electrical Project Engineers and Advanced Manufacturing, documenting assemblies and Bills of Material (BOMs).

Qualifications:

• Associates Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Technology
• Over 10 years of CREO Software experience
• Experience in Research and Development is advantageous
• Over 10 years of experience in Engineering design and/or development
• Proficiency in using PDM software
• Experience with GD&T and certification
• Ability to create concept models, accurate models, layouts, assembly drawings, and bills of materials
• Experience in basic mechanical troubleshooting
• Preferred familiarity with Windchill Software and JDE
