General Position Purpose:

The Sanitation Supervisor is responsible for directing the Sanitation team, and for

ensuring that all current Food Safety standards are being executed throughout the facility. The

Sanitation Supervisor assigns the daily work, enforce policies and procedures and

recommends improvements in sanitation methods, equipment, procedures and working

conditions.

Job Requirements:

 At least 5 years’ experience as a Sanitation Supervisor in a union food manufacturing

environment. (College degree in a related field is preferred).

 Must be knowledgeable in GMP, HACCP, Allergens and SQF.

 Must be able to work any assigned shift including weekends and overtime work as

required.

 Must demonstrate knowledge of food manufacturing and sanitation processes,

procedures and technology.

 Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

 Excellent problem solving skills and demonstrated ability to make sound business

decisions.

 Strong computer skills including Microsoft Excel and Word as well as experience using

an ERP system (Oracle, SAP, etc.)

 Must pass a post offer physical, drug and background check.

Job Responsibilities:

 Direct all hourly bargaining unit Sanitation employees in executing the sanitation

program including communicate, train and enforce company philosophy, policies and

expectations in a clear and precise manner.

 Comply and enforce all GMP’s, safety and housekeeping standards.

 Responsible for communicating in a clear manner any Sanitation issues to the

Sanitation Manager or other applicable levels of management within the organization.

 Assist in the maintenance of the Sanitation program (HACCP, Allergen, etc.) for a variety

of products in compliance with customer, government and SQF regulations.

 Accurately complete all Sanitation related paperwork to meet all applicable rules or

guidelines that pertain to government, industry and food safety practices.

 Develop strong Sanitation team members through the effective use of performance

management processes and tools.

 Ensure the proper use of all Sanitation related chemicals used in the plant.

 Create a positive working environment for all team members, which supports

continuous improvement, reinforces company philosophy and policies and treats every

individual equally and with respect.
