Manufacturing Supervisor or Manager - Zinc Die Casting

Location : Auburn, AL

An established company with a significant market share in the manufacturing industry is seeking a Manufacturing Supervisor or Manager for their Zinc Die Casting department.

This position is based in Auburn, AL and offers a day shift schedule from 6 : 00am to 4 : 30pm, with flexibility in hours.

The company provides an attractive benefits package including a % match up to 5% on their K plan, as well as relocation assistance if needed.

In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing all operations within the Zinc Die Casting department. This includes ensuring the quality of production, managing a team of approximately 20 employees, maintaining safety regulations, and monitoring daily production standards.

You will also be involved in troubleshooting die equipment, controlling quality, correcting defects, and planning and scheduling production.

Responsibilities :

• Maintain and enforce safety regulations within the department
• Direct and coordinate the activities of employees
• Resolve worker problems, complaints, or grievances in collaboration with management
• Participate in the hiring process and make recommendations
• Train, counsel, and discipline employees
• Coordinate operations and activities with other supervisors and departments
• Inspect materials, products, and equipment for defects
• Complete time and attendance tasks using Microsoft Dynamics AX
• Read and analyze production documents and reports
• Maintain organization and cleanliness of workspace
• Conduct regular cycle counts and inventory controls
• Plan and establish work schedules and production sequences
• Demonstrate equipment operations and safety procedures to employees
• Ensure compliance with production and processing standards

Departmental Specific Duties and Responsibilities (Die Cast) :

• Initiate changes in casting cycle times, lubrication of dies, and process parameters
• Supervise operation of equipment including Die Cast Machines, Trim Presses, Laundry System, and Melting Furnace
• Analyze, organize, and plan production to meet customer needs
• Perform data entry via production reports
• Ensure accurate and complete timekeeping
• Lead and participate in continuous improvement projects and audits
• Collaborate with other departments to resolve production needs
• Document training events and ensure implementation

Education / Experience :

• Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college or university, or equivalent experience
• Three to five years of experience troubleshooting HPDC machinery
• Three to five years of experience in quality control within a die casting environment
• Experience with MRP / ERP software and Microsoft Office
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills

Physical Requirements :

• Ability to stand, walk, sit, and lift up to 50 pounds
• Manual dexterity for grasping, manipulating, and assembling objects

Working Conditions :

This role involves working in a manufacturing environment with loud noise levels. Hearing protection may be required in some departments.
