Position Title: Sales Consultant Exempt Status: Commission Accountable To: District Sales Manager Job Summary: The Sales Consultant develops and maintains relationships with potential and existing customers in the food service industry. You will ensure that our customers have the products, ideas, and resources they need to thrive in a competitive market while achieving company sales and profit goals. Duties/Responsibilities: Build and maintain relationships with a variety of potential and existing customersMeet with potential and existing customers daily and integrate cold-calling into your schedulePresent new products and perform at-location demonstrationsPresent menu cost analysis and create / help integrate business plans that ensure your customer’s profitabilityEstablish costs for products sold and negotiate agreements with customersUse a PC-based computer for ordering, research, analysis, and communicationAnticipate problems to occur and provide remedies according to established parametersWork toward the goal of earnings based solely on commissions over a reasonable period of time Required Skills/Abilities:Must have a valid driver’s license with good driving historyThe ability to communicate well with others, both verbally and written, in English as a primary languageThe capacity and desire to multi-task substantial amounts of issues at any given timeFlexibility to service customers at unconventional times or during non-work daysAbility to lift product weighing up to 50 poundsIndependent, self-motivated, and disciplined with a work history that verifies itUse of a personal vehicle is required – position involves substantial driving within the route. An allowance program offsets the expenses that are incurredHave a competitive nature and desire to succeed Education & Experience:High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required, Bachelor’s degree or some college preferredPrevious foodservice experience preferred (not fast food related)Should have a functional understanding of ExcelReasonable accommodations may be made to those who are able to perform the essential duties of the job. The incumbent must be able to pass any required drug test. The incumbent must be able to maintain the confidentiality of any information they encounter.
