Stiles Brand is Hiring a Human Resources Business Partner Near Grand Rapids, MI

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Human Resource Business Partner (HRBP) will support the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including but not limited to hiring and interviewing staff, enforcing company policies and practices, aligning business objectives with employees and management in designated business units. The position formulates partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflects the business objectives of the organization and support employee growth.

Duties:

  • Conducts weekly meetings with respective business units, departments, and employees.
  • Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with the HR group to develop solutions, programs, and policies.
  • Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough, and objective investigations.
  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with the legal department as needed/required.
  • Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
  • Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  • Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation.
  • Develops contract terms for new hires, promotions, and transfers.
  • Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
  • Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  • Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience supporting general HR functions as well as resolving complex employee challenges.
  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including organizational diagnosis, employee relations, diversity and equity, performance management, HRIS systems, and federal and state respective employment laws.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred (Human Resources, Organizational Psychology, Business administration).
  • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential or ability to obtain certification within one year of employment.

  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS and talent management systems.
  • SAP & Salesforce experience preferred
