Position Overview

The Stinker Assistant Store Manager position is responsible for all facets of the customer sales specialist position. In addition, the Assistant Manager is responsible for providing effective, enthusiastic leadership in assisting with the management of store employees and in implementing the company’s policies, procedures, and desire to provide outstanding customer satisfaction.

Essential Job Functions

In addition to duties as defined in the Customer Sales Specialist job description, the following are responsibilities associated in assisting the Store Manager or while in the absence of Store Manager:

Customer Satisfaction

• Resolves all customer concerns, complaints, or requests in a timely manner.

Store Management

• Check in vendors, warehouse orders and gas deliveries.
• Change fuel prices as required to maintain competitiveness and margin.

Merchandising and Promotion

• Provides a clean, well-stocked store in a friendly, inviting atmosphere.

Personnel

• Assist in training new employees according to the guidelines set forth by the Company.
• Communicates and enforces compliance of Company policy and procedure.
• Fosters and develops employee growth by providing leadership and guidance at all times.

Management

• Prepares labor schedule and ensures employees are properly paid for time worked.
• Perform daily banks deposits.

Loss Prevention and Safety

• Ensures employees are adhering to safety policies and practices regarding store conditions, fuel emergency shut-off procedures, and food safety if applicable.

 Requirements/Competency

• Experience
  1. Minimum HS Diploma or GED with 1 year of prior retail store experience
• Teamwork
  1. As a team member, the ability and desire to work cooperatively with others on a team; as a team leader, the ability to demonstrate interest, skill, and success in getting groups to learn to work together.
• Customer Orientation
  1.  The ability to demonstrate concern for satisfying one’s external and/or internal customers.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to balance on step stool or step ladder.
• Must be able to work from eye level to floor level.
• Must be able to work in a cooler at a temperature of 32 degrees.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lb
