Finance Director | PE-backed | High-growth Leisure & Hospitality Scale-up

Salary: €110K-€130K Fixed Salary Bonus Equity

Munich, Germany (Hybrid with c2-3 days based in the office)

STOIX has been retained by a truly exciting, fast-paced, highly ambitious, leisure and hospitality business to identify their new Finance Director based in Munich, Germany. With full ownership of multiple sites, building out a best-in-class finance team, and supporting M&A transactions. This is an incredible opportunity to join this innovative, PE-backed business and help support its exciting, major expansion plans.

The Role:

  • Drive Team Performance: Develop departmental plans, lead the team to achieve goals within budgets and timelines, and ensure they have the capabilities to succeed.
  • Align with Business Goals: Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure the Finance team supports business objectives and maximises profitability (seamless UK team interaction).
  • Optimise Processes: Assess and improve in-country finance processes, and systems, and implement new ones if needed.
  • Partner with Group CFO: Work closely with the CFO to maximise profitability and lead German financial due diligence for acquisitions (support other European territories as needed).
  • Empower Business Decisions: Provide insightful financial analysis to guide business decisions.
  • Drive Strategic Initiatives: Contribute to company priorities, challenge assumptions, and analyse capital investments.
  • Ensure Accuracy and Compliance: Reconcile financial statements, provide accurate recommendations, monitor variances against budget, and ensure legal and regulatory compliance.
  • Maintain Robust Controls: Implement robust financial controls and systems that support business needs.
  • Support New Site Operations: Establish financial systems, processes, and cash management for effective operations of new sites.

Ideal Candidate:

  • German and English: Fluent in written and spoken German and English (essential).
  • Senior Finance Expertise: Previous experience in a senior finance role with experience in both commercial analysis/FP&A and financial accounting. This would suit a Senior Manager or Head of Finance/FP&A stepping up into their first FD role.
  • A background in corporate finance / M&A is highly desirable having previously supported Due Diligence processes for acquisitions and new builds.
  • Consumer Business Experience: Proven track record working in a fast-paced, consumer-facing business is desirable with particular interest in those with multi-site experience ideally Leisure / Hospitality
  • German Financial Expertise: High-level understanding of German tax, payroll, and other financial compliance requirements.
  • Financial Management: Successful experience managing financial analysis, budgets/forecasts, and reporting processes.
  • Team Leadership: Proven ability to manage, develop and upskill a growing team.
  • Results-oriented: Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and influence business decisions at a senior level.
  • Effective Communicator: Strong presentation, report writing, and communication skills.
