Position Summary:

• Stoltzfus Meats makes and sells fine, fresh, home-style foods. We have an opening for a PT Grill Cook to prepare hot sandwiches and entrees at our Amos’ Place Restaurant, as well as assist with other food prep functions. Stoltzfus Meats maintains a drug-free workplace, and conducts pre-employment drug screening (including marijuana) for all team members.

Qualifications:

• Age 18
• Ability to stand, twist, and work in high temperatures for long periods of time
• Ability to lift 25-50 lbs regularly
• Grill, line, or short order cook experience is required, including using a griddle and char; rapid oven experience is a plus
• Team mentality, work well with others, communication, flexible, willing to jump in to help others, reliable, punctual

Responsibilities:

• Prepare breakfast menu items and hot lunch sandwiches by braising and grilling meat and vegetables
• Checking that ingredients remain fresh and safe for consumption
• Ensuring food items are grilled to proper temperature
• Preventing cross-contamination
• Preparing meals in accordance with standardized recipes and portion control
• Teamwork with other grill cooks, sandwich makers, and kitchen prep workers; effective and positive communication with others
• Tracking the components of each meal to ensure that the final dish is completed in a timely manner
• Managing multiple food orders at once
• Cross training in back kitchen prep work; assisting with other positions including taking out trash and light bussing as needed
• Ensuring that workstation remains clean, organized, and stocked
• Maintaining hygiene and safety standards at all times
• Other duties as assigned

Schedule and Benefits:

• PT schedule is 2-3 shifts per week, 9 hr shifts; a typical shift is 10 am - 7 pm
• Friday and Saturday availability/flexibility is required
• Amos's Place Restaurant operates Monday - Friday from 6 am - 6 pm, and Saturday from 6 am - 5 pm
• No late nights and no Sundays!
