Accounting Specialist Part-Time (15-20 hours/weekly)

SCDDB works with individuals who have developmental disabilities by providing day program services to assist persons served to become more integrated in their communities by maximizing individual strengths, interests, and abilities. The aim is for the person served to direct their own activities that create a meaningful life including contributing to the community and developing relationships. Support may occur in a variety of settings and may include providing personal care, assistance with daily living activities, job coaching, teaching/developing skills, advocating with person served, assisting in communication and self-expression, and supporting the person in meeting his or her own goals.

Job Overview:
The Accounting Specialist assists with reconciliation of accounts receivable, including Medicaid billing. This position has other accounting responsibilities including bi-weekly payroll and other accounting activities as assigned by the Executive Director.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Research, reconcile, and resolve any discrepancy in accounts receivable

· Run reports in Excel involved in accurate payroll processing and maintenance

· Ensure billings are completed on time

· Collaborate with the departments to provide necessary financial reports

· Maintain accounts and keep accurate records for the organization. This includes working with the billing system (CIMOR), generating invoices, collecting payments, posting receipt of payment, and handling any discrepancies.

· Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual reports

· Keep accurate records of payments received for the organization

· Coordinate with management on time and attendance concerns

· Other accounting activities as assigned by the Executive Director

Qualifications/Skills:

· Typing, computing, and data entry skills

· Strong spelling, math, and financial skills

· Documentation skills

· Experience working in an office setting

· Previous billing and/or bookkeeping experience

· High School diploma or GED required, associate’s degree preferred.

· Medicaid billing preferred but not required.

· 3-5 years’ experience preferred.

· Ability to pass criminal/registry background checks.

· Must be able to obtain and maintain a Class E driver’s License.

· Ability to pass and maintain required trainings such as CPR/First Aid, and Positive Behavioral Support Training
