We at Stoner Industrial Services are looking for skilled Industrial Mechanics with welding experience to join our team at our shop and construction sites. This job is important as it provides the foundation for strong infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be up for a challenge and have keen attention to detail with mechanical skill and knowledge of welding and fabricating. Knowledge of different kinds of metal and their properties is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostics, check the performance of equipment
• Installation, maintain or repair equipment in manufacturing plants, quarries or businesses
• Replacing chains or bearings
• Operate power tools or manual tools
• Determine appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements
• Set up components for welding according to specifications (e.g. cut material with powered saws to match measurements)
• Align components using calipers, rulers etc. and clamp pieces
• Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal or overhead)
• Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws
• Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety

Skills

• Mechanical knowledge of industrial equipment
• Knowledge of Preventative Maintenance and Troubleshooting
• Experience with hand tools and manual tools
• Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures (TIG, MMA etc.)
• Communication skills
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings is helpful
• Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face-shield, gloves etc.)
• Skill with attention to detail
• Successful completion of a relevant apprenticeship program is a plus
• Professional Certification (e.g. an AWS welding certificate) are encouraged
• Ability to work independently or in a professional manor with a team

Required

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• A valid driver's license
• One year of relevant experience

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $24.00 per hour
